Welcome to the SharePoint Saturday, Virginia Beach site!  We're all about bringing great SharePoint content to the Hampton Roads area.  We're lucky to have the wonderful support of the City of Va Beach Public Schools who provide the use of their top-notch technical facility, the Virginia Beach Advanced Technology Center.  Our next event (we held the innagural SharePoint Saturday on January 10, 2009) is scheduled for January 9, 2010.  We should have some sneak peeks at the upcoming SharePoint 2010 at this event!  Follow us on Twitter at #SPSVB.

Wednesday, January 06, 2010
Don't forget to follow SharePoint Saturday, Viriginia Beach by using the Twitter hash tag of #spsvb (see the Twitter feed at the right). You can use our hash to hook up with others to hold your own ad-hoc SharePoint conversation while at SPSVB - using our Community Courtyard. Community Courtyard will be a separate meeting room set aside for folks to have impromptu talks, a place where speakers can adjourn to carry on conversations after their session time has run out, etc. There will be a projector, white boards, etc to facilitate collaborating. Tweet to #spsvb if you want to invite others to join you to discuss a specific topic.

We have put together a tentative DRAFT schedule of speakers/sessions in the different time slots and will post that this week. NOTE: TENTATIVE! We still need to submit to the speakers and make sure it fits their availability.
If anyone needs a hotel, there is a group rate at the Hilton Garden Inn at Virginia Beach Town Center (rate is $89). Reservation code is SPSVB.

Hurry, hurry, hurry! It's less than two months before the first anniversary of SharePoint Saturday, Virginia Beach and we've opened up registration. Registration filled up quickly last year, we put many folks on a waiting list and we had to turn folks away. Don't get left out - go register now and tell your friends. Click here to register for SharePoint Saturday, Virgina Beach, Jan 9th, 2010.  Remember, this is FREE and open to the public, we'll provide breakfast and lunch and there will be raffle prizes at the end of the day (must be present to win). We're still working hard to line up sponsors for give aways and nail down that last speaker or two. You can see the list of speakers who have already sent in their presentations, and their biographies, by clicking on the Speakers and Sessions tabs above. We have more speakers who have committed, we just haven't gotten their abstracts from them yet. We'll continue to post them as we receive them, so check back later. Also, we are planning a half-day Introduction to SharePoint lab session to be led by Dux Sy.
