Assuring Accessibility and Privacy Compliance in SharePoint Sites and Social Computing

The best thing about SharePoint is that you can put any content into it. The worst thing about SharePoint is that you can put any content into it.  While business users (Marketing, HR, Operations, etc.) want to use SharePoint for intranets, external sites, My Sites, Team Sites, blogs, wikis, etc., the IT group has concerns about compliance: accessibility, privacy, site quality, and brand integrity.  This impasse delays the business benefits of using SharePoint.
In this session, Larry Concannon will review the challenges associated with content compliance in SharePoint and demonstrate how an automated compliance management solution can enable your organization to deploy SharePoint with confidence that your sites are compliant.  This session will cover:
• The accessibility (Section 508, WCAG), privacy (HIPAA, sensitive corporate information), site quality (link validation) and brand integrity (SEO) vulnerabilities and risks your organization might be exposed to when using SharePoint.
• Checking new SharePoint sites for compliance and assuring that SharePoint sites stay compliant over time
• Leveraging SharePoint’s workflow capabilities to prevent non-compliant content from being posted on a SharePoint site and to that content contribution routed for review and resolution before posting
• Making SharePoint itself accessible for disabled users
