Session Topic Description:

Using SharePoint 2010 access services

Many Organizations are faced with an overwhelming number of access databases created by power and business users. Access Services for SharePoint with Access 2010 is game changer.  Not only can you centralize the Access sprawl, but you can rapidly build and deploy specialized data oriented applications and share them through the organization literally overnight.

With Access 2010 you can store Access databases in SharePoint itself, centralizing all the data, putting it into a solution that can be centrally backed up and managed, where security can be set and IT is aware of not only the presence of the Access databases, but also who uses the database and how much.  This provides the ability to continue to use Access in the organization without compromising security, resilience or manageability of the database.

In this session learn:
·         How to create an Access form in the client application and publish that up to your SharePoint site and allow end users the ability to fill out the form and store the data within the Access database or a SharePoint list.
·         How to get started on converting your existing databases
·         Common Pitfalls to avoid when creating your databases.
·         How to update and maintain your database and forms once it is published to production
