Updated on January 5, 2011
We have now confirmed 10 MVPs and 30 presentations for Live Online SharePoint Saturday EMEA. The schedule will be posted at the beginning of next week, along with the opening of registration for those wishing to attend.
Logistics: There will be four (4) Live Meeting channels running simultaneously for the duration of the event. You will be able to switch back-and-forth between channels, or even run them all at once if you’d like. I will be posting the final schedule soon, but plan on the keynote starting at 8:30am London time, with the first session beginning promptly at 9:00am London time.
The sessions will be recorded and made available two weeks after the event. We are in the process of putting together a digital "goody bag" for those who attend the live sessions. No hints on what will be in your bag, but you don’t want to miss out on the free giveaways.
That’s it for now. Please look over the speakers and their sessions. We would VERY much appreciate you tweeting and blogging to help us raise the visibility of the event. The hash tag on twitter is #SPSEMEA. Our goal is to get 1000 attendees, making this one of the largest online SharePoint events in the world… literally all over the world.
More details to follow…

Speaker submissions for Live Online SharePoint Saturday EMEA close at midnight, EST tonight!
We are in the process of looking over the submssions and developing the various tracks for the Live Online SharePoint Saturday, January 22, 2011. I must say, I’m extremely happy with the speaker submissions we have received. For the SharePoint End User, this might be the most important event you will attend this year. It will give you the foundation you need to move forward with ideas and projects you can implement without having access to the server.
If you are a SharePoint Power User, a SharePoint Business User or a SharePoint Site Administrator, put January 11th on your calendar. That’s when we will open the floodgates for registration. Anyone may register, from anywhere in the world. I’ll be logging in from New York City at 3:00am in the morning the day of the event, so no excuses for those of you in the EMEA timezone.
Looking forward to it. See you on January 11th for registration, and January 22nd for 30 sessions of purely End User SharePoint.
I’ve been working with Toni, Isaac and Ayman to layout the format for speaker submissions for SharePoint Saturday EMEA. We have agreed that the content for this special event will focus on the SharePoint End User. Imaging that…
We are going to be running four tracks:
- No Assembly SharePoint Solutions for Power Users
- SharePoint Branding: From Beginning to End
- Planning and Governance for Business Users
- Case Studies: How We Did It
We want to stay focused on these areas to give the most value to beginning and intermediate level users of SharePoint. As with last year, we will setup special sessions for those presenters who would like to present in their native tongue. From my perspective, it was one of the highlights of the previous SPSEMEA.
Register as a speaker so we can get a feel for the type of content people will be presenting. In addition to the well know speakers who support SharePoint Saturday, we encourage participation by those who have not previously spoken. If you’ve got a case study, we want to hear about it. If you’ve worked on a no assembly solution, we want to hear about. If you’ve got a few branding tricks up your sleeve, we want to see them. Infopath, SharePoint Designer, Out-of-the-Box Solutions… that’s what were’ looking for.
Go to the speaker submissions site for SharePoint Saturday EMEA and let us know what you have in mind.
Has it really been a year since the first live online SharePoint Saturday EMEA? Indeed it has, and it’s time for another.
Here’s what we’ve got to do in the next week:
- For Speakers
- Get speaker submissions
- Process speaker submissions
- Inform speakers of acceptance
- Develop content tracks
- Insert speaker submissions into content tracks
- Publish sessions to site
- For Attendees
- Setup registration
- Process registration
- For the Site
- Create Speaker Library
- Update weekly with latest news on the project
- Update the EUSP Live Online Chatroom to handle 1200 connections
- For the Event
- Create 5 instances of live meeting
- Run test of live meeting w/ the presenters to verify connectivity
- Get volunteers to act as "moderators" for specific tracks
