Announcing: Women in Technology – SharePoint Panel discussionThursday, January 19, 2012

Thanks to Suzanne George for organizing an Women in Technology – SharePoint Panel discussion at SharePoint Saturday Austin:

Women in Technology – SharePoint Panel Discussion

As women, we’d like to share the talents of other women in technology and start a conversation! We will discuss experiences these ladies have had as women in technology, and that while we may not define them by thier gender specifically, they all have had experiences where the different perspectives have added value to a client or project. We will highlight stories, journeys and perspectives during their career and hopefully spark a discussion about how we can generally support and mentor each other.

The panel consists of:

  • Nedra Allmond (@NedraAllmond),
  • Suzanne George (@SPGenie),
  • Marcy Kellar (@MarcyKellar),
  • Misty Rodriguez, and
  • Tiffany Songvilay (@OfficeOverEasy)

The Women in SharePoint Panel is 1:10 PM – 2:00 PM in Classroom 201. So, enjoy your lunch, then come join us for a lively discussion.

Traffic and WeatherThursday, January 19, 2012

God is smiling on SharePoint Saturday Austin with beautiful spring weather in January!

If you’re coming from colder climes, you might want to through in a couple of short-sleeves and maybe a pair of shorts! 🙂 Welcome to January in Texas!

And, because the weather is so beautiful, you may run into traffic delays if you are trying to come north across Lady Bird Johnson Lake through downtown. The Gorilla Run is taking place along Cesar Chavez from Congress Ave. west to Stephen F. Austin. Cesar Chavez and the Congress Ave. Bridge will be closed from 7AM – 11AM. If you’re coming from South Austin Saturday morning, use Mopac or I-35 across the river and take the Enfield (turns into 15th St.) or MLK exit, respectively.

The AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center is on the corner of MLK (formerly 19th St.) and University.

ParkingWednesday, January 18, 2012There are two parking garages available onsite:

  • across the street to the north at Dobie Mall Garage (20th St & Whitis; 2005 Whitis Ave). $3.50/hr, Max fee per day is $12
  • on premise at AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center (entrance on 20th St). $12 for 3-12hrs. AT&T parking maps/directions are on

Street parking is available earlier in the morning, but for the late arrivals, there are several Federal offices located in the area which are closed on the weekends, and their parking lots are freely available. One such lot is just to the south of the AT&T Conference Center, in front of the Bob Bullock Texas State Museum, at the SE corner of MLK and Congress.Announcing our SpeakersTuesday, November 08, 2011

SharePoint Saturday is an event that is of the community, by the community, and for the community. It will only be as good as we all work together to make it.

Volunteer today!

Getting Ready

Local and national speakers are preparing their presentations. Corporate sponsors are donating their money, time, and resources to make it free for all attendees. Organizations are spreading the word to "Bring the Team!" And organizers are working with the speakers, the venue, and vendors to make it a great hands-on, networking, learning, and connecting event for all involved.

Getting Involved

Now we need the help of the local SharePoint community—yes, YOU!—to make it all happen.

Volunteer today!

We’ve created an "event" on EventBrite to make it easy for you to sign up to help with SharePoint Saturday Austin. Please only sign-up if you can:

  1. Help with SharePoint Saturday Austin the weekend of January 20-21, 2012, and
  2. Attend a meeting or two IN AUSTIN prior to the event.

We need all the help we can get and we’d love to have you join our team!

SharePoint: Technology that’s not just for geeks anymore.

SharePoint has something for everyone; and so does SharePoint Saturday Austin. From interns to CEOs; Accounting to HR; from field service representatives to back office support; SharePoint is the tool everyone in your organization uses to get their jobs done.

Come spend a day at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center with fellow SharePoint users, enthusiasts, experts, and collaborators.

And bring the whole team.

The company or organization that brings the most team members will win a $250 SharePint tab at the time and location of your choice. If the winning team brings a CxO/Principal along, we’ll bump the tab up to $500.

Plus every team that brings at least two team members and at least one CxO/Principal (minimum of three team members) will enter into a drawing for another $250 SharePint tab.

To sweeten the deal for your head honcho to attend, we’re holding an exclusive C-level luncheon and panel discussion with some of the top SharePoint experts in North America. Come learn from the best of the best how to implement, upgrade, maximize, govern, and/or fix your SharePoint environment, so that you get the most ROI on your SharePoint investment.

Simply click the "Register Now" button above, then tell everyone on your team to do the same.

We’ll see you in January!
